Super Biker Girl

Minimetal

Punkopera

Going by the name of Minimetal the artists Nik Emch and Laurent Goei have composed eleven pieces for guitar, drums and vocal. Written from 1994 to 1998, these vintage-songs are made of simple lyrics and radical, experimental punk metal music. „The eleven key works" is what they call these unconventional compositions. Replaying them with religious devotion, the artists turn into punk-monks in the process.
As they replay these ‘archaic mantras', Minimetal ceaselessly create unsettling and provoking performances. Elements of the plastic arts enter into them, so that veritable sound sculptures come into being. Not following any art movements, Minimetal defy current trends and constantly search for new forms. This way they introduce their audience into the uncanny world of disintegrating conventions. „Super Biker Girl", one of their key works, designates the imaginary figure of a heroine clad in black leather. Over all these years Minimetal have interpreted the composition with a certain calm. But for the performance at Gessnerallee the two punk-monks will abandon any control. They will be overwhelmed by the repeating mantras of „Super Biker Girl" who, through feedback, finally reveals the true nature of both artists.

Season opening and premiereparty on 22th of September with live-band Boredom Laughs Alone!
