Stealing the Futures is a serie of strategies engendered by DUST; an ephemeral institute based in Amsterdam. Their absent presence allows an installation to rise up, and to make room for a temporary gathering. For two days–25th and 26th of March – the doors to Gessneralle's Südbühne will open - and nobody will be there except you. DUST invites you to a collection of open, joyful and welcoming participatory actions, to dance, read and play: to rearrange and undo itself.
For this installation, we are also presenting the work by Dr. Bettina Vismann, architect, artist and researcher in philosophy of science - based in Berlin.
From the collected knowledge about the fluctuating matter of dust, Bettina Vismann has developed a deck of cards to be applied as a structure for rethinking coincidental constellations. It is a collection of cards containing physical and cultural properties of dust -- and used as a tarot deck it reveals patterns unique to each encounter. At the DUST Conference, Bettina offers sessions of a joint laying out and reading of cards, asking to put our minds together towards a shared knowledge production.
