In his lecture From Serf to Citizen / Von der Leibeigenschaft zur Bürgerschaft, the Afghan historian uses historical and contemporary photographs to develop theses on the development of Afghan society from which he presents perspectives that may be of great relevance in the Afghanistan of today, especially after the reconquest of Afghanistan by the Taliban.
Atiq Arvand is an Afghan historian and philosopher. He studied philosophy at Tehran University and graduated with a thesis on Spinoza. He has been a journalist for various Afghan media outlets for over ten years, as well as a researcher, writer, and essayist. His main research interests are contemporary Afghan history and Spinoza and Machiavelli.
