The program _PARA/SITE O.SINENSIS _curated by Lhaga Koondhor asks for the generative yet complex relation of host and parasite. While the parasite feeds on the substance of the host, it decodes and reassembles its identity as it was. The situation of the parasite is paradoxical: Both depending on and transforming its host from within. During the infestation the flows of energy and information between host and parasite stabilize, boundaries between the two individuals blur and a new hybrid being comes into existence.
The 4-days program around the 8th of June in Gessnerallee acts parasitical in itself. Redistributing attention and energy towards artistic creation that holds the potential to recode the rigid, eurocentric identities of Zurichs cultural institutions. The programm PARA/SITE O.SINENSIS gathers a variety of works ranging from installations, sonic performances and concert-nights aswell as a selection of video works in Nordflügel.
