Gessnerallee is a home for Zurich-based artists and for those coming from abroad. Many protagonists making up the local drama, dance, performance and music scenes have been closely related to the cultural landmark for years. And it is integral to us to regularly engage in novel collaborations with young artists and Gessneralle newcomers!
Our House Artists Program offers local artists various tools and spaces for the advancement of their creative work—with the flexibility to result in “output” or not. What we aim for is the interplay and lively exchange between generations and national and international networks as well as a dedication to non-hierarchical course formats.
All artists who are coproducing with Gessnerallee during season 2020/21 are featured here on the list.
How to apply as an Artist-in-Residence?
All independent theatre troupes and dance ensembles who are publicly funded by the City of Zurich and who have produced pieces with Gessnerallee already belong to our growing family of artists-in-residence. The same is true for a number of national and international artists who through diverse projects, i.e. the Lab, are closely associated with us. If you would like to co-produce with Gessnerallee and are applying for grant funds for the first time, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and share with us the following information:
We are still trying to implement the artistic programme as planned. However, due to the exceptional situation, the necessary caution and travel restrictions, it may happen that events have to be postponed, sometimes at short notice, or even be cancelled altogether or take place in digital space. On the event pages on the website, we will inform you of any changes at short notice. Unfortunately, the more stringent measures in the catering sector are forcing us to operate Stable 6 only as a foyer bar in front of performances until further notice. Stall 6 will remain closed for regular bar, concert and club operations.
